Plastic panels are often used to decorate the modern bathroom. Of the advantages of this material, it can be called its low cost, ease of installation, wide color scheme, moisture resistance, the ability to choose vertical or horizontal panels. In this case, the plastic panels slightly reduce the space of the bathroom.
Firstly, you need to decide on the required amount of material.
The width of plastic panels is from 25 cm to 50 cm, the length is from 2.6 to 6 m. Better to take with a small margin. It will also require joint, starting, finished and corner (occur for external and internal corners) profiles, wooden rails, hacksaw, level or plumb line, roulette, punch and screwdriver. The panel on one side has a spike, on the other – the groove. To connect two panels to each other, you need to insert a spike of one into the groove of the other, for a smooth transition, you can use the docking profiles.
There are two ways to attach plastic panels during the repair of the apartment: glue directly to the wall or attach to the crate. The first way can only be used on absolutely even and dry walls, so in the bathroom it is better to use the second option. The first stage will be the creation of a crate – fastening wooden racks on the wall using self -tapping screws. Reiki are located perpendicular to the direction of the plastic profile and should be strictly parallel to each other, it is necessary to constantly check this using a level or plumb line. It is recommended to make no more than 50 cm between the rails.
Then the fasteners of the ceiling skirting board are attached to the crate. It is recommended to start the panels mount from the corner and move along the walls to avoid difficulties with joints and fitting. The panel needs to be inserted into the grooves of the docking profile, and then into the grooves of the corner, attached with self -tapping screws to the leakage rails. Next, you should install one panel after another, pressing them tightly to each other and attaching them to the crate.
For joints between the wall and the ceiling, the wall and the floor, there are special skirting boards that simply “glorify” into the gap. But if the level was not observed during laying panels on the wall, then in some places this skirting board will leave. For walls, floor and ceiling, the technology of fastening plastic panels is the same.
