Placing aluminum pipes

Placing aluminum pipes

Aluminum pipes are actively used to create pipelines. There is nothing to be surprised here, because they are characterized by qualities such as corrosion resistance, good chemical inertia, ease of welding and machining, flexibility. All these listed characteristics are undeniable advantages of aluminum pipes, which caused their immense popularity.

Pipelines are directly related to such a concept as home engineering systems and plumbing. Vivid examples of modern plumbing products are toilets, shells, sinks, mixers, locking valves. You can buy them by visiting the online plumbing store in your city and choosing the right product among a wide range. As a rule, in the online stores of plumbing, all products are cheaper than real stores.

Crying is a technological technique that allows to significantly increase the estimated service life of aluminum pipes. Its essence is to cover the inner diameter of the pipeline with a thin layer of another metal. The basis of this phenomenon is diffusion, which consists in interpenetration of substances that differ in its structure. In order to accelerate the diffusion of the protective layer with the pipe material, such an operation is performed at high temperature and under pressure.

In most cases, zinc is used as a filler material for placement, while most often this procedure is subjected to the inner surface of the pipe, in rare cases – and external, for example, when its operation is planned to be carried out in a particularly aggressive environment. The thickness of the layer can vary seriously depending on the purpose and area of the use of a particular product, but in any case, it almost never exceeds ten percent of the total thickness of the pipe wall.

Transfer of liquids through pipelines requires the use of powerful pumps, which, of course, is associated with large energy costs. Perennial practice was able to show that aluminum pipes subjected to the internal plate process allow reducing these costs, because their surface inside is more smooth compared to conventional steel and aluminum pipes. Therefore, an increase in the smoothness of the surface can reduce the intensity of the friction of the pumped fluid on it, which leads to a logical reduction in energy consumption. Of course, such products are more expensive than usual, but this difference in price is more than justified.
